Food & Nutrition Services

Breakfast and lunch will continue to be provided at select sites to any child through the age of 18, whether or not they are enrolled in the district. Student must be present at time of pick up. Avondale ESD will make available a grab-n-go lunch meals at the following sites: -Michael Anderson School -Avondale Middle School  -Desert Thunder School -Desert Star School -Wildflower Accelerated Academy

 

**There will only be ONE pick-up time for grab-n-go meals. Lunch and next day's breakfast will be available for pick up between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m from Monday through Thursday. Children must be present at the time of pick up. Each child will receive both meals to take home during this time. 

Pick-up locations will be in the parking lots of the sites listed above.
Avondale ESD will have select bus stop locations (click here - map - for details) where grab-n-go breakfast & lunch for children will be available for pick-up. Families coming to pick up food should still ensure social distancing for the safety of our community.

Breakfast and Lunch Prices:
Student full pay lunch:  $2.25             
Student reduced pay lunch:  .40 cents
Student full pay breakfast:  $1.00        
Student reduced pay breakfast: .30 cents
Full hot lunch for Adults (including Garden Bar):  $3.50
Adult Garden Bar only: $2.50    


                   

For the 2019-2020 school year, breakfast meal service at the Desert Thunder campus will return to traditional hot breakfast service in the cafeteria.  Breakfast will be available daily to all students based on meal eligibility status.

The Food and Nutrition Services Department of the Avondale Elementary School District is looking for volunteers to serve on the Local Wellness Policy Committee.
The purpose of the committee is to:
  •   Establish goals for a  healthier school environment

  •   Assist with policy development or revision to support a healthy environment

  •   Promote parent, community, and professional involvement 

      Evaluate program and policy efforts

  •   Provide feedback on the implementation of the Local Wellness   Policy

     

    The committee is open to parents, staff and community members.
